Last Tuesday, local musicians took to the Central Park bandstand to celebrate America's 250th anniversary through music.
Under the direction of conductor Bob Humphrey, the Newark Park Band performed a patriotic program featuring a compilation of familiar American favorites. Residents gathered on a beautiful summer evening to enjoy the free concert, which honored the nation's 250th anniversary with an evening of music and community.
The patriotic performance was part of the Newark Park Band's annual summer concert series, a longstanding tradition that brings live music to Central Park throughout the summer months.
The Newark Park Band will continue its free Tuesday evening concerts through Aug. 4. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Central Park bandstand and are open to the public. Residents are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy an evening of live music.
