Music on the Erie

A different band performs, free of charge, every Friday in July and August from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newark’s T. Spencer Knight Park along the beautiful Erie Canal.  Bring your lawn chair or blanket and dancing shoes.  Families are encouraged to attend and snacks are available for purchase.  Visit Newark Chamber of Commerce or call 315-331-2705 for details.

Newark Farmer's Market

The Farmer's Market is open from mid-June to mid-October.  It is held on Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in downtown Central Park, and is a perfect place to find local fresh produce as well as other homemade items.  From time to time, food trucks and live entertainment are present.

Newark Park Band Concerts

Starting the second Tuesday in July and running five consecutive Tuesdays, the Newark Park Band performs for free in Central Park on South Main Street, beginning at 7:30 p.m.  Concerts last approximately an hour and benches are provided, or you may bring your own lawn chair.

Taste of Wayne County

Taste the “signature” dishes and drinks from restaurants, growers, and manufactures who are located throughout the county. This event is usually held the third Tuesday in June.  Visit Taste of Wayne County for more information.

Home for the Holidays

Home for the Holidays Light Parade

The "Home for the Holidays" committee brings you all the wonderful events Newark's local organizations and businesses have planned between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day! The holiday festivities kick off with the Newark Cross Country Boosters' Annual Turkey Day Race, and roll into the first weekend with our Annual Community Christmas Tree Decorating Contest, Small Business Saturday (shop local this day and throughout the year), Annual Lighted Parade, a magical Tree Lighting Ceremony, and a special visit from Santa riding on a fire truck! During the season, check out the "Home for the Holidays" Facebook page for the schedule, including special events at businesses for the holiday season!
